Up to now I guess Carol is a brave and sensitive girl. She is also hard working and willing to do whatever is necessary to make her son happy. By the way she looks at Melvin I can tell that deep inside her heart she knows he is a good man. I like this character a lot as she keeps on trying any possibility to find happiness for the people around her and herself. Frank, on the other hand, looks like a gorgeous and funny man. It seems to me his feelings are pure and true, especially towards Simon. He may be the best friend everybody would like to have. He is my favorite human character. I love the way he moves while speaking and the rhythmical intonation he has as a black man. I strongly believe that someone like Frank is the perfect guy to cheer you up. Concerning Simon, I would say he is very sensitive and respectful. His feelings of liveliness and all that energy he shows is kind of contagious to me. He is the one I would like to hug any time I see him because he is able to transmit life. Well, Melvin’s feelings are rude, grotesque, selfish, and mean but maybe because he is rejected by many people. The only person he seems to like a lot is Carol and then, Verdel. He is very expressive with his eyes and face. My feelings about this character have changed since he is taking care over the little animal. And last but not least, Verdel. This lovely dog has wonderful feelings towards any person who shows a little concern about him. He seems energetic, caring and ready to give love to any human being who is willing to receive it as his/her companion. Of course it is my favorite character just for being an animal and even more for being a dog. As it is the only one that cannot speak, the expressions on his face are very important so we get to know how he feels or whatever he wants to say.

Apart from that, I think that she sufffers from the bad things that happen to her but she is strong enough to overcome all of them or at least manage to deal with them. Frank: I think he is open-minded, impatient, rude and temperamental because I think that he accepts people for what they are or what they do, but he won't have any problem to say whatever comes to his mind, or even hit you. I think that he can't stand an argument with anyone as he easily goes to the deep ends. Simon According to Simon I'd say he is sensitive, sensible, out-going, thougtful because I believe that he always shows care about the other person and that he won't cause you any offence. Also, he is reasonable in the way he thinks and does things. he is very friendly and has no problems, or he isn't of those people that have problems with others. What is more, I feel that he considers what other people need. Melvin I think that he is mean, meticulous, sttuborn and coward. I think that he is very rude verbally speaking, I don't think that he is going to hit somebody. apart from that, he is very thorough and pay too muchattention to details, and things should be done in the way he wants. However, It seems to me that he isn't brave enough to fight or do something difficult or dangerous such as changing his routines like sitting always in the same table, or not touching the lines while walking... Verdell I don't have many things to say about Verdell but I think that he is energetic, caring and friendly because he is the kind of dog that is very active, and at the same time he cares about Simon and gives love to him. I feel he transmits happiness to anyone.
Hi there! I love this movie! Carol seems to be an empathetic and kind hearted woman throughout all the scenes we’ve seen so far. When she’s working she’s very approachable and easy-going with her customers, and extremely patient, especially to Melvin. I’d say she’s definitely not self-centered and she also seems to have a strong sense of right and wrong. One thing’s for sure, she’s really committed to her son; and that makes her character one to which all of us can easily identify with. I really admire her and her will to overcome dificulties. Regarding Melvin, I go along with Marina. At first, I thought he was rude, blunt and a bully; especially towards Simon. But later I had a change of heart when I saw his behaviour towards Verdell. Chances are I might like him at last! Simon, on the other hand, looks like a quiet and sensitive human being, particularly in the scene where he meets his model. I get the impression he’s a vulnerable man too, and deep down he’s got a beautiful soul; and this is the reason why I really like this character. Frank is so quick- witted and high-spirited througout the movie, so everytime he enters each scene I know something funny is about to happen. Finally, what can I say about Verdell? I adored him from the very first time I saw him. He’s very affectionate and lively, and also so intelligent! He transmits so much with his behaviour and I believe he might change Melvin’s life for good.

Hi everybody! I believe that Melvin is a good man who uses a “mask” so as to protect himself from the world.At the very beginning, he is insolent, cruel and disrespectful. However, I can see little changes in his personality throughout the different scenes we’ve seen in class. He is making an effort in order to express his emotions.
Carol seems to be an excellent person. Everything she does, she does it for his son. She is a caring and loving mother. This woman also has an incredible relationship with her mother. Moreover, she is the only one who can handle Melvin. She can see beyond Melvin’s barrier and she expresses her feelings and thoughts without fear (and that is admirable).
In my opinion, Simon is the most sensitive and warm-hearted character of the movie. The fact that he is an artist is really important. Through his pieces of art, he reflects his perspective about life and humanity.
Frank is a funny character. Even though he is temperamental, I think that he is an honest and lovely man. He is more than Simon’s agent. He considers Simon a friend and that is why he decides to take care of him in that difficult situation.
Last but not least, Verdell. The dog is the only one who can express everything without words. I believe that he is the main connection between the characters, especially with Simon and Melvin. Somehow, he helps Melvin to show his kindness.

I like this character bacause many times she shows her bravery. Frank is elegant, worthy and confrontantional, especially when he has arguments with Melvin. When he talks, he makes funny gestures with his face. He is funny!! According to Simon, I believe that he is gentle, well-educated and sensitive. He transmits a friendly energy. On the other hand, Melvin is selfish, obsessive, rude and sincere. He has bad attitudes and manners. I don´t like those bad attitudes of him but I think that he is a nice man and many times he´s funny, too. Finally, Verdell is a lovely and friendly dog. He´s full of energy. It´s one of my favourite character!
I do really like this movie till now. I believe that Carol is an amazing, caring and loving woman in her thirties, but she looks older than she really is because she has suffered a lot. She has a strong personality; she seems to have built a hard wall to protect her family and the ones she loves the most. When her son is ill, she is determined and quick-witted and although she is kind and sympathizes with Melvin in some moments, in others, she can be rude and straightforward towards him. She really knows what she wants. It must be difficult to deal with such health problems when you are on your own. Every time I see Franck I can see in his eyes that he is reliable, sensitive and trustworthy. As a businessman everyone may consider him strict, structured and hard, but he shows strong and deep values. He is a black young man who is always there for his friend and client, Simon. He is loyal, and always ready to listen to his friend and to help him. I like Frank because he knows how to deal with difficulties; he is practical and quick-witted if it is necessary. Simon is weak and extremely shy, but on the other hand he is creative and emotional, which are priceless qualities. It is difficult for him to confront people like Melvin because these traits make him the very antithesis of his neighbor. He always needs protection and someone who loves and cares about him. Melvin is totally different from Simon. At the very beginning of the film we can see a rude, aggressive, unscrupulous man who doesn’t care of hurting others. Although his disorder makes him a lonely and bad-tempered person, his attitudes are changing towards Carol and Verdel. There are some clues that show us he is not that bad. In a way, he is showing politeness and heart-felt feelings. Sometimes he may sound glib but he is really trying hard. This is the most precious attitude of all. Verdel is the most innocent character of all. It is loyal and loves its owner but when Verdel gets to know Melvin it realizes he is a man who needs love. It is a small loving creature which is keen to understand Melvin feelings. It is said that pets are alike their owners. Maybe that is why it is shy and unstable. I love dogs and cats, they are unconditional friends.

Hello!! I really like this movie.. First of all I think that Carol is a brave and hard-working woman. She is also very patient, especially with Melvin. Hi class, sorry I'm late! Here is my appreciation of the movie (which by the way I like very very much!). I believe that Carol is a strong and independant woman, who works really hard in order to take care of her son. She is completely devoted to him and doesn't allow anyone to mess with neither herself nor her son. I really like her personality, she is kind and tender, but fiery and protective at the same time. Melvine is a very difficult character, he suffers OCD but seems to manage it just fine. He is absolutely rude and narrow-minded, he likes to do things his own way, and he gets furious if someone invades his privacy. Moreover I consider him to be one of the most awful persons I have ever seen, this is so because of the horrible way in which he treats other people (especially Simon). So far I feel sorry for him but, I truly believe he will eventually turn out to be a better self. Simon is a soft and calm character who is definitely neither agressive nor violent. His job, as well as his obsession, is painting, creating fine and beauteous pieces of art. He shares his apartment with his dog, the sweet Verdel who he passionately loves. We know he likes guys but so far we haven't seen him with any male companion. Frank is a both hot-blooded and temperamental guy, who finds it easy to argue with people, especially with Melvine. He seems to have a nice and amiable relationship with Simon, and I believe it is so because Frank really cares about Simon, but just as a friend. We don't know much about Frank but, we can guess he is economically well positioned, as he is always elegantly dressed. Finally, as regards Verdel I can tell she is a sophisticated and spoiled dog, I believe Simon gives her what she wants and treats her like a child. Furthermore I can tell that she doesn't like Simon's neightbour Melvine, chiefly because he once tried to get ride of her thowing her through the garbage shute! Personally I find her really cute and adorable! GO GO GO! TEAM VERDEL!
Hi, guys! I have to say that I’m really enjoying the movie so far. The different characters are interesting and also developing. Carol, a hardworking woman, is very brave and courageous, probably because of being a single mother and also due to her son’s health condition. However, we get to know that she’s kind and warm-hearted. As regards Melvin, he shows himself as a rude and grotesque man, who wants his things to be done at his pace and manner. Anyway, we could appreciate that there’s something wrong with him; he suffers from OCD what makes him really annoying when he is in a social context. I’d would that he’s a good man but he can’t control himself. Concerning Simon, he is a sensitive and kind man who paints and draws. He seems to be fascinated by finding beauty wherever he goes or whoever he is with. He is very friendly though he finds some trouble when dealing with his irritating neighbor, Melvin. Frank is Simon’s elegant young manager who seems to be always in the good mood, making jokes and cheering things up. To end this list, I cannot forget to say something about the cute little dog called Verdel. He is really smart and a bit spoiled by his master, perhaps because he is the only company Simon has.

First of all, I can see that Carol is a very strong and independent woman. She seems to be very rude at moments, but this is undertood when she speaks and tells us her problems with her son. She works very, very hard and she not only has to take care of her son, but also of her mother. I love her!
As regard Melving, I'd say that at the very beginning he was rude, bad tempered and also unscrupulous specially when facing Simon and Verdell. But as many scenes has passed, he had to face different situations that showed him the reallity. He suffers OCD. He has to exhibit his caring side of his hart when Frank ask him to take car of Verdell. He seems to be very sympathetic with Carol.
Frank is friendly and a good listener for his close friends. He is a black man who is always at Simon's side, helping with everything he and Verdel need. But this is not helpful because he looses his temper when somebody, especially Melvin, attacks his personal friends.
Simon is an importan artist and very famous, but he is shy and calm. He has a great passion for painting but sometimes is absent-minded. He loves his dog Verdel and he's brave enough to fight for it. I like him very much!
To conclude, Verdel is a very innocent and loves its master avobe all things. It's small but has its own personality. It doesn't want to stay with Melvin because it knows that, at first, he hated it. Once they shared a room, the thing changed. I love Verdell, I love animals!!!

I know that what I'm going to write might seem crazy jaja but my favourite charecter is Melvin. I really like the fact that he says whatever comes to his mind, he is mean and very ironic and sarcastic. To my mind, he is very funny in spite of the fact that he may seem rude, narrow-minded, selfish and sttubborn. The only person who can handdle him is Carol. She is a very strong lady. She has to be like this for his son, who is very ill. She is very hard-working, patient and easy going women. she is also brave, determined but also sensitive. Regarding Frank, he is an art dealer and a very good friend of Simon. Frank is a temperamental, honest, and open-minded guy. He is an african-american man and he is very funny. I loved how he and Melvin argued in one of the first scenes. Simon is an artist. he is polite, gentle, shy and he really loves his dog, Verdell. We could see that he is not confrontational at all and that he doesn't have a good relationship with his neighbour, Melvin. Unlike Nati, I wouldn't like to have a friend like him. I prefer Melvin or Frank jaja. Verdell is Simon's dog. It is extremly sweet, cute and loves its owner. Verdell is smart and it doesn't like Melvin very much up to now. It seems an energetic and very friendly dog.
Of course you'd rather have a friend like Melvine and not like Simon!!! He would suit your personality far better!! To tell you the truth, I like Melvine very much too, though I admit it must be really hard to share your life with a guy like him. I guess you would have to know a lot about his illness to understand and support him.
Hello, everybody! I think that Carol has gone through a lot of stress lately due to her son’s illness. She likes Melvin but she gets upset every time he speaks. She seems to be tender and caring with everybody, but I feel that she still has to learn not to judge Melvin too much as he has OCD. Talking about Melvin, I can see that he is changing. At first he was rude and impolite with all the people, but now he looks more respectful, for example when he shows concern for Carol’s son. His habits have changed too, for example when he switches tables in the restaurant so as to keep an eye on the dog. He even has started to love the dog. Melvin also likes Carol but he is still being offensive towards her. Simon seems to be kind to everyone, even to his homophobic neighbour. After he was battered almost to death, he feels that his life is falling apart. He is very depressed, angry and sad not only for himself but also because Melvin is taking care of his dog. Frank tends to be quick-tempered when he speaks with Melvin since he can’t stand his behavior. Frank seems to be overprotected towards Simon. He doesn’t want anyone to hurt him or the dog, especially Melvin. Verdell is very loyal to his owner. He doesn’t like Melvin at all, may be because he has done bad things to him. He now feels scared in Melvin’s house, lost and insecure, to the point that he doesn’t know if he can eat what Melvin has prepared for him or not. However, Verdell is starting to like Melvin and is the first one who accepts him the way he is.

He shares his apartment with his dog, the sweet Verdel who he passionately loves. We know he likes guys but so far we haven't seen him with any male companion.
Frank is a both hot-blooded and temperamental guy, who finds it easy to argue with people, especially with Melvine. He seems to have a nice and amiable relationship with Simon, and I believe it is so because Frank really cares about Simon, but just as a friend. We don't know much about Frank but, we can guess he is economically well positioned, as he is always elegantly dressed.
Finally, as regards Verdel I can tell she is a sophisticated and spoiled dog, I believe Simon gives her what she wants and treats her like a child. Furthermore I can tell that she doesn't like Simon's neightbour Melvine, chiefly because he once tried to get ride of her thowing her through the garbage shute! Personally I find her really cute and adorable! GO GO GO! TEAM VERDEL!

ResponderEliminarI have to say that I’m really enjoying the movie so far. The different characters are interesting and also developing.
Carol, a hardworking woman, is very brave and courageous, probably because of being a single mother and also due to her son’s health condition. However, we get to know that she’s kind and warm-hearted.
As regards Melvin, he shows himself as a rude and grotesque man, who wants his things to be done at his pace and manner. Anyway, we could appreciate that there’s something wrong with him; he suffers from OCD what makes him really annoying when he is in a social context. I’d would that he’s a good man but he can’t control himself.
Concerning Simon, he is a sensitive and kind man who paints and draws. He seems to be fascinated by finding beauty wherever he goes or whoever he is with. He is very friendly though he finds some trouble when dealing with his irritating neighbor, Melvin.
Frank is Simon’s elegant young manager who seems to be always in the good mood, making jokes and cheering things up.
To end this list, I cannot forget to say something about the cute little dog called Verdel. He is really smart and a bit spoiled by his master, perhaps because he is the only company Simon has.

First of all, I can see that Carol is a very strong and independent woman. She seems to be very rude at moments, but this is undertood when she speaks and tells us her problems with her son. She works very, very hard and she not only has to take care of her son, but also of her mother. I love her!
As regard Melving, I'd say that at the very beginning he was rude, bad tempered and also unscrupulous specially when facing Simon and Verdell. But as many scenes has passed, he had to face different situations that showed him the reallity. He suffers OCD. He has to exhibit his caring side of his hart when Frank ask him to take car of Verdell. He seems to be very sympathetic with Carol.
Frank is friendly and a good listener for his close friends. He is a black man who is always at Simon's side, helping with everything he and Verdel need. But this is not helpful because he looses his temper when somebody, especially Melvin, attacks his personal friends.
Simon is an importan artist and very famous, but he is shy and calm. He has a great passion for painting but sometimes is absent-minded. He loves his dog Verdel and he's brave enough to fight for it. I like him very much!
To conclude, Verdel is a very innocent and loves its master avobe all things. It's small but has its own personality. It doesn't want to stay with Melvin because it knows that, at first, he hated it. Once they shared a room, the thing changed. I love Verdell, I love animals!!!

EliminarI know that what I'm going to write might seem crazy jaja but my favourite charecter is Melvin. I really like the fact that he says whatever comes to his mind, he is mean and very ironic and sarcastic. To my mind, he is very funny in spite of the fact that he may seem rude, narrow-minded, selfish and sttubborn.
ResponderEliminarThe only person who can handdle him is Carol. She is a very strong lady. She has to be like this for his son, who is very ill. She is very hard-working, patient and easy going women. she is also brave, determined but also sensitive.
Regarding Frank, he is an art dealer and a very good friend of Simon. Frank is a temperamental, honest, and open-minded guy. He is an african-american man and he is very funny. I loved how he and Melvin argued in one of the first scenes.
Simon is an artist. he is polite, gentle, shy and he really loves his dog, Verdell. We could see that he is not confrontational at all and that he doesn't have a good relationship with his neighbour, Melvin. Unlike Nati, I wouldn't like to have a friend like him. I prefer Melvin or Frank jaja.
Verdell is Simon's dog. It is extremly sweet, cute and loves its owner. Verdell is smart and it doesn't like Melvin very much up to now. It seems an energetic and very friendly dog.
Of course you'd rather have a friend like Melvine and not like Simon!!! He would suit your personality far better!! To tell you the truth, I like Melvine very much too, though I admit it must be really hard to share your life with a guy like him. I guess you would have to know a lot about his illness to understand and support him.

ResponderEliminarI think that Carol has gone through a lot of stress lately due to her son’s illness. She likes Melvin but she gets upset every time he speaks. She seems to be tender and caring with everybody, but I feel that she still has to learn not to judge Melvin too much as he has OCD.
Talking about Melvin, I can see that he is changing. At first he was rude and impolite with all the people, but now he looks more respectful, for example when he shows concern for Carol’s son. His habits have changed too, for example when he switches tables in the restaurant so as to keep an eye on the dog. He even has started to love the dog. Melvin also likes Carol but he is still being offensive towards her.
Simon seems to be kind to everyone, even to his homophobic neighbour. After he was battered almost to death, he feels that his life is falling apart. He is very depressed, angry and sad not only for himself but also because Melvin is taking care of his dog.
Frank tends to be quick-tempered when he speaks with Melvin since he can’t stand his behavior. Frank seems to be overprotected towards Simon. He doesn’t want anyone to hurt him or the dog, especially Melvin.
Verdell is very loyal to his owner. He doesn’t like Melvin at all, may be because he has done bad things to him. He now feels scared in Melvin’s house, lost and insecure, to the point that he doesn’t know if he can eat what Melvin has prepared for him or not. However, Verdell is starting to like Melvin and is the first one who accepts him the way he is.
