Hello!! I think that learning about Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder help me understand people who suffer from this disorder. People with OCD feel the need to check things repeatedly and they can't control these obsessions and compulsions. This disorder affects children and adolescents, as well as adults. For example, when I was a child I washed my hands many times! and I had a friend who locked and unlocked doors three times!! Fortunately, OCD can be treated with psychotherapy, medication, or both..
ResponderEliminarHi! After reading about OCD (Obsessive- Compulsive Disorder) I learnt that people with this type of anxiety disorder can´t control their obsessions and compulsions. So they do the same rituals over and over but they don´t get pleasure when performing them. They get brief relief from the anxiety the thoughts cause. Now, I can understand people who suffer from this disorder because I believe it´s difficult to live with OCD...
ResponderEliminarHi there! I've to say that I already knew this disorder from a tv series character, and yes, it seems to be very unpleasant and complicated. Most people with OCD are aware of their condition, and I think that makes them suffer the most, not bieng able to fully control what you do. I think that's one reason why they have antidepressants (What I didn't know was how dangerous this drug is!). Moreover I didn't know that most people are diagnosed by about age 19.
ResponderEliminarI believe this is very useful information that can help us reach a better understanding of these people.
Hi! After reading about OCD, I learnt that it coul be treated with antidepressants and that people are diagnosed by about the age of 19.
ResponderEliminarI learnt that people with this desorder spend lot of their time performing their rituals and as a consequence of that, they are unable to do a lot of things that are important for them.
Knowing more about this disorder will help me understand people who suffer from it.
Hi everybody! I've read all the information and I learnt a lot about this disease. For instance, it is diagnosed by about age 19. Moreover, these obsessions are almost impossible to handle. People cannot control their thoughts and behaviours and they even spent al least one hour per day doing certain rituals and this is really stressful for them.
ResponderEliminarConcerning the second question, I believe that it's good to read about OCD because you can understand why they act in that way. Even more, some people don't know or realise that they are obssesive, so in some way we can help them to identify the problem. (of course, they should work with a specialist to treat their problems)
According to what I have read, OCD is a mental disorder characterized by thoughts that produce anxiety, worry, fear and distress in people. As a result, they develop a repetitive behaviour so as to reduce the level of anxiety caused by these thoughts. The symptoms include excessive cleaning, fear of germs, repetitive cheking, etc. These symptoms can be time-consuming and alienating for people with OCD.
ResponderEliminarPersonally, I believe that we should all know more about this disorder since many people suffer from it nowadays. It will help us understand that they can't control their anxiety and that we need to be patient with them. We need to give them support and help them become more confident.
I've learnt that everybody is different, that our psyche functions in different ways, in every single person and moments. So that makes me understand that before judging others we have to know them better. We do not need to comprehend everything, just respect them the way they are.
ResponderEliminarWell, I already knew about this kind of dissorder because my best childhood friend got it. I believe this information is useful to learn to undestand people's behaviors and try to be more sensitive when having these people around.
ResponderEliminarHello! After reading all the information, I learnt that this people can't control their behaviour and they don't realise they have a problem. People with OCD need to check things many times and follow a routine, if this is not fulfilled, they feel that the next thing they will do, it may turn wrong. It was very useful this information because we can understand their actions. I believe that we all suffer from some kind of OCD, in my case, I'm not an obsessive person, but one of the things I normally do, is to have all of my shoes in their correspondent box.
ResponderEliminarHey there, according to what I've already read I believe people suffer from some kind of OCD, even me! I know many people with different kinds of OCD and even though they sometimes seem to be funny, we should be very careful. This is a problem 'cause I'm not sure if you're able to end up with this. Finally, I'd say I have some OCD that are kind of "Cabalas" and although I try not to do them, I can`t!!! that's all, C U!!
ResponderEliminarHello sweets! I hope you all had a wonderful and relaxing weekend. OCD seems to be a real problem in itself. I have to admit I`ve never really made any research into this condition before, even though I had heard about it. It came out as a surprise to me that it can even affect children. It’s really sad that OCD may interfere and even play havoc with the life of people who suffer from it. It’s really interesting to learn that it may include actions (such as cleaning and hand-washing compulsions) and ideas (like thinking that if you don’t do everything right, sth terrible might happen). However, it’s wonderful that OCD has treatment; and I believe that this is the message we should try to get across. xo Florencia.
ResponderEliminarit's good to read your comments guys!!!
ResponderEliminarHi, everyone! After having read about Obsessive-Compulsive Behaviour, I can say that I’m really surprised that it is considered as a mental illness. I believe it is really difficult for people with OCD to deal with the real world every day and to be with other people in different social contexts. The most shocking thing I read was that you can treat the illness but it is not possible to be cured completely.
ResponderEliminarAs far as the second question is concerned, I think that we all should know about these kind of disorders in order to be able to help other people that may suffer from it.
I totally agree with you. It's useful to know about these disorders to be able to understand people who suffer from them.
ResponderEliminarAfter reading the information, what surprised me the most about people who suffer OCD is that generally they recognize they have obssessions and compulsions which are not normal, but they cannot control them, and this may result in frustration. What I mean is that maybe, for these people, realizing that something is wrong with their behavior is much more frustrating than being unconscious they actually suffer from OCD. I consider, however, that identifying a "strange" behavior is the first big step towards the cure for the illness. Moreover, it is important for the person who suffers OCD to know they are not alone, that he/she has family and friends who will help him/her overcome this problem. Therefore, it is really necessary we know about this kind of disorders in order to help people who suffer from it, because they are actually SUFFERING and they cannot enjoy a normal life.
